The following subsection is my theory of gvg. You don't have to read it but you may find it interesting.
1. The leadership and command of a gvg falls to one person and one person alone. The whole group
wins or loses as a team but only one person uses the online chat for commands and directions and also for pinging and drawing
on the map. This is very necessary to promote cordination and teamwork. Everyone yelling and offering advice at the same time
is not teamwork. Teamwork is when one commander issues orders and his soldiers follow those orders intelligently and to the
best of their ability. People can voice their concerns but this should be done before the gvg unless
it is an emergency. Things like, "Enemey team has sent two people towards our base". This is okey if said by only one person
and in a calm demeanor. Things that are not okey are "OMG they are rushing us." or "LOOK OUT they are rushing the Guild Lord,
run back everyone." Both comments are panicy and stated loudly, which hurt the chances for winning a gvg. The second comment
also as an order that is not issued by the battle commander. Also the Giuld Leader most likely
is not the best battle commander. Giuld Leaders tend to be better at making friends and some basic management. These skills
do not necessarly help or unhelp battle commander skills. Battle commanders need to have a good knowledge of the terrain,
the biuld the other team is running, abilities of all of his team, and also a calm and cool demanor so as to project calmness
and order through the battle field.
2. People should spend at least an hour practicing a new biuld before they give
it up. All the high level giulds practice quite a lot. Practice is the only way to get betterin anything from instruments
to a sport. Practice is essential, it also must be done at regularly schudled times. Regular times promote the same people
showing up and increasing their overall effectiveness. People who run a new biuld only twice and then quit because they were
not doing well are the real noobs. These types of people want a quick easy solution, but this is not possible if you want
to beomce a rank +100 giuld. If you want to be a rank 1000 giuld then going for the easist biuld is okey. Easy biulds while
good in many aspects, like true cordination and skills that the high level giulds use to win gvgs.
3. You always win
when you follow your role. Some people don't follow the role they are assigned becuase they are confused or an asshole. Most
of the time it is the first case and this is where the practice comes in so there is no possible confusion. The second case
of someone being an asshole... well jsut kick them out of the giuld. Assholes are people who keep making rude jokes, don't
follow there part, and do not listen to the battle cordinator. Offering helpful suggestions and learning from your mistakes
is a good thing. Saying things like "this biuld blows", "I can't do this becuase it is stupid", and also "i think XXX is stupid/asshole"
are just a few things assholes do. When ever is someone is being an asshole the battle cordinator/guild leader should
whisper to them about their attitude and give them a warning. The person giving the warning should ALWAYS explain why the
person is an asshole or being kicked. It is never accpetable to just kick someone without telling them why. Telling people
will allow them to grow and a lot of people do not realize if they are doing something wrong. Remember
no one can read your mind, they also can't see your facial expressions, and most likely can't here your tone of voice. So
always be dircet and clear while talking to someone.
4. Win and lose as a team. This was mentioned above but it needs
it's own section. Teams that are the winners are not the teams that win the gvgs but rather the teams that are organized and
follow orders. If a person disobeys orders to win the gvg then the battle is lost. This is becuase at high level gvgs cordination
and team work win out over individual skill.
5. Teamspeak/vent is very usefull in gvg and should be the main communication
tool of the battle cordinator. Everyone should have clear speakers and the battle cordinator need to set up a clear mike that
is understandable to the rest of the group. Also lag time should be checked even if it is not a spike group. The test involves
everyone pinging the map at the same time and seeing how much differnt people are lagging. People who are lagging their asses
off or may quit in the next hour should not be allowed to participate. While this may seem harsh it is very important,
because biulding a team takes about 3 times longer than a gvg so all effort should be made to maximize gvg time
when there is a complete team.
So follow these rules and you will be on your way to gvg sucess.
